I have been a self-employed teleworker myself since 1996.
The main motivation towards telework was to spend more time with my family.
I am a home based mom, with two young children, and have experienced that
telework provides an ideal solution to balance between family and career
for a woman who is fond of both.
As a freelance journalist I was in charge of a featured telework
column and wrote over 100 articles, reports and interviews for a Hungarian
weekly called VGA Monitor between 1998-2001
Papers such as Metro daily, Hungarian Telecommunication,
Magyar Hírlap, Business Online and a few others requested and published
my articles about the trends and practices of new ways of working.
I am the co-author of the book "Telecottages and Telework
in Hungary" published by the Hungarian Telecottages Association, and moderated
a telework discussion at the Annual Conference of the Association in October
1999.
In the past 3 years I built up a large telework related resource
center online, with articles, interviews, tips and reports, the most comprehensive
site in this regard in Hungary and in CEE. Today tavmunkainfo.hu has become
the leading telework information portal in Hungary.
Early 1999 I founded the First Hungarian Telework Job Board,
a free virtual service to match teleworkers and those looking for co-workers
on a telework basis in Hungary. The idea rose the attention of the media,
and has been featured by printed press in Hungary and in the neighbouring
counties, as well as by national radio broadcast and commercial TV channels,
such as RTLKlub and TV2.
I am the founder, owner and editor of the Hungarian telework
newsletter that reached over 1000 subscribers.
I have been a subscribed member of the European Telework
Online discussion board and mailing list since early 1999.
I participated at the Telework2000 Conference in London representing
my publisher Prim Media. My series of articles about the conference were
published both online and offline.

Education Conference on Telecommunications in Budapest 4-6 October 2000
I delivered a presentation at the Telework in Europe 2001
Conference in Budapest organized by MONA about the present and future of
teleworking in Hungary.
I delivered a presentation about myths and reality about
teleworking at the eHungary conference in Budapest.
I delivered a presentation at the Telework Conference organized
by the Ministry of Employment in on November 7 2002 in Budapest.
I delivered a presentation about the opportunities of telework
at a training course of the Hungarian Association of Disabled People.
I was involved in a research project by ITTK (Information
Society and Trend Research Center) on telework practices in Hungary.
I am a team member of an ILO project aimed at creating a
concept and implementation of a trade union for teleworkers in Hungary.
I have assisted several diploma works relating to telework,
being the appointed consultant to a university student.
I operate a well equipped office at home. Telework is only
one of the topics I am involved in. To read about my other activities visit
